The paper describes the transformation of labor migration in post-Soviet Russia. Particular attention is paid to the current migration in regions of the Russian Federation. On the one hand, the migration potential of Russian regions is analyzed from the methodological viewpoint, on the other, an empirical assessment of labor migration based on official statistics is offered. Some arguments and conclusions are presented regarding the risks and prospects of migration processes in Russian regions in the foreseeable future.
