Consumer lending is considered as a fundamental institution of the modern consumer society, which accelerates investment in consumption and expands the household debt model of consumption. The factors of rising consumer lending and the impact of consumer loans on the economy and public welfare are analyzed. Consumer lending in Russia is discussed in the context of related problems and risks.
